Politicians have long been masterful in disguising or obscuring the true nature of their proposals and actions. Decades ago, for instance, tearing down poor but vibrant city neighborhoods brimming with life was called “urban renewal.”

Massive, wasteful spending is labeled “investments.”

Both labels obscure disastrous economic policies being pursued by the White House and the Federal Reserve.
